As part of rail safety compliance, we are authorised through the RIW to conduct:

  • Category 1 Rail Health Assessments – For rail safety workers performing safety-critical tasks requiring high medical standards (e.g., train drivers, track workers). Includes cardiovascular screening, neurological testing, and vision/hearing assessments.
  • Category 2 Rail Health Assessments – For workers performing non-safety critical rail tasks who must be medically fit but do not require the stringent testing of Category 1 workers.
  • Category 3 Rail Health Assessments – For rail workers in low-risk roles who must be able to hear warnings and maintain alertness on duty.

All rail medical assessments must be performed by an Approved Authorised Health Professional (AHP) listed in the AHP directory. Medicals conducted and signed by AHPs not listed in this directory will be rejected.
